Savills Malaysia, as part of the Cooperation Agreement between Savills Malaysia and Savills Investment Management, has appointed Dougie Crichton as head of asset management, Malaysia

17 February 2020

Dougie will be responsible for managing the existing relationships in the country and will play an important role in strengthening the group’s asset management capabilities. He joins from an advisory role to HSBC, where he was involved in the delivery of the bank’s HQ development project in Kuala Lumpur. He has over 20 years’ experience in South East Asian real estate, having held senior roles at Farpoint, part of the Gunung Sewu Group; the Pamfleet Group in Singapore; and Hongkong Land.

The appointment continues the group’s commitment to the Malaysian market and its relationships with investors in the jurisdiction. It also further underlines Savills IM’s desire to scale its presence in Asia, following the arrival of Alex Jeffrey as Singapore-based global chief executive in October last year.

Alex Jeffrey, Global Chief Executive, Savills IM, commented:

“Dougie brings with him a wealth of experience across operational management, leadership, project marketing and sustainability. His expertise will be invaluable as we continue to develop our proposition for investment in the APAC region and especially for our clients in Malaysia. He will work closely with our affiliated colleagues in Savills Malaysia, who have a very strong platform in the country.”

Dougie Crichton, Head of Asset Management, Malaysia, commented:

“I am delighted to join the group at such an exciting time in the company's development, and hope to be able to play a significant role in further strengthening our relationships with our Malaysian clients.”

In 2019, Savills IM completed transactions totaling EUR 520 million in Asia and a further EUR 3 billion worldwide.
